Job Description:
- Follows regulatory requirements in the blood gas lab, runs quality control tests, and changes analyzer cartridges.
- Documents interdisciplinary education and plan of care.
- Participates in interdisciplinary rounds and provides input to ensure appropriate patient care.
- Assists with bedside bronchoscopy procedures.
- Performs respiratory therapy treatments and procedures per provider orders, department policy, and recognized standards of care.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Critical thinking and patient assessment skills, with the ability to evaluate and modify the plan of care
• Ability to ensure infection control
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including documentation in the patient care record (EMR), and ability to use and adapt to computer systems and applications
• Airway management skills, including insertion and maintenance of a patent airway, and endotracheal intubation as [Required]
• Ability to provide optimal respiratory support including administration of oxygen and Heliox, administration of inhaled medications, lung expansion, and bronchial hygiene therapy
Education:
• Associate [Required]
• Bachelor's [Preferred]
Field of Study:
• Associate's in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science Required
Work Experience:
• 1+ years as a certified respiratory therapist [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) [Required]
