Job Description:

  • Educates/precepts new staff or students and works well independently with minimal supervision as needed.
  • Sets priorities and completes work within the expected time frame. Checks e-mail daily and effectively communicates with department Supervisor and Manager.
  • Performs staff Image QA as assigned. Communicates findings of QA to site leader and senior modality manager.
  • Actively participates in department meetings and safety surveys. Utilizes service recovery techniques for patients and families, as needed.
  • Utilizes the hospital performance improvement process in the goals of Imaging Services.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Participation in departmental PI projects [Required]
• Ability to meet deadlines and complete tasks in a timely manner [Required]
• Ability for independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative [Required]
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds [Required]
• Ability to determine appropriate technical factors [Required]
• Ability to learn and master new tasks related to Image Quality and technology [Required]
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]
• Customer Service skills [Required]
• General PACS knowledge [Preferred]
• Quality assurance experience [Preferred]
• Data analysis expertise [Preferred]
• Preceptor experience [Preferred]  

Education:

• Associate [Required]
• Technical/Vocational School [Required]
• Bachelor’s [Preferred]  

Field of Study:

• Associate in healthcare-related field [Required]
• Graduate of Ultrasound or Radiologic Technologist program [Required]
• Bachelor’s in healthcare-related field [Preferred]  

Work Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in US or XR [Required]
• 3+ years of pediatric specific experience in US or XR [Preferred]
• Participation in Process Improvement projects [Preferred]

• Basic Life Support – CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer – Abdomen (RDMS-AB) [Required]OR

• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) [Required]
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) [Preferred]
