Job Description:
Develops and oversees the implementation of the annual Risk Management Plan. Investigates sentinel events and reports to the appropriate regulatory body in conjunction with the department manager. Facilitates Root Cause Analysis (RCA) team meetings and follows up on outcomes and recommendations. Reviews medical records and collects data for risk management analysis, studies, and monitoring. Assists with activities related to the Grievance Process, including attending committee meetings. Provides education to employees regarding Risk Management Principles. Serves as a resource person for questions or problems of a legal nature. Provides emotional support for employees involved in litigation and collaborates with internal or external legal counsel. Assists with insurance billings as appropriate. Participates in the disclosure process for unanticipated events and the use of apology. Reviews and develops appropriate policies and procedures related to Risk Management. Co-chairs the Workplace Violence Committee. Performs other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong organization skills, including completing work by established deadlines. [Required]• Ability to evaluate and correlate clinical information with appropriate criteria and is able to utilize available computer hardware and software. [Required]• Skills to develop and engage in educational activities to facilitate learners’ achievement of specific objectives. [Required]
Education:
• Bachelor’s of Nursing [Preferred]
Field of Study:
• BSN strongly
Work Experience:
• 1+ experience with teaching and/or leading evidence based project [Preferred]• 3+ as acute care nurse [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:
• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]• Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) [Preferred]
