Job Description:
• Demonstrates proficiency or advanced functional knowledge of internal and, applicable third-party solutions, and the Microsoft suite of products.
• Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with all stakeholders; meets with customers and sponsors to capture business and technical requirements.
• Assesses workflow processes, identifies gaps, defines necessary process changes, and develops future workflows related to the implementation of new solutions or functionality.
• Designs, builds, and configures within assigned system modules and any supporting third-party applications; develops and maintains system process documentation and outlines process steps using appropriate tools; identifies and implements requested changes to the system.
• Designs and develops test scripts and materials for end-to-end workflow testing; performs unit, system, and integration testing per standards, including negative and regression testing; documents outcomes.
• Remains current on industry trends and vendor/application/system updates; ensures all software modifications/upgrades are working according to system specifications.
• Follows departmental standards for software configuration control, quality assurance, and version releases; provides documentation on system upgrades and new releases of system applications; provides training if required.
• Troubleshoots issues or system deficiencies and initiates escalation procedures as required; provides recommendations for resolution of the problems found.
• Leads multiple cross-functional projects; understands project planning and coordination methodologies using project management skills, tools, and Lean methodologies; communicates project status of deliverables, shared issues, end-user concerns, budget, and upcoming milestones.
• Actively participates in and leads project, team, departmental, and other meetings as required; reports status updates, accomplishments, tasks, and any barriers to the manager.
• Oversees projects with minimal supervision, including planning, design, execution, and ongoing monitoring of activities to ensure successful completion and meeting of deadlines.
• Acts as a super user of supported applications, trains, and mentors new employees with some coaching.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Mature, independent professional judgment and ability to work with no supervision [Required]• Advanced ability to make appropriate decisions in stressful situations and handle multiple priorities and projects within deadline constraints [Required]• Advanced knowledge of HL7 concepts and operating within an integrated healthcare applications environment [Required]• High degree of theoretical and practical knowledge and expertise of clinical/technical workflows [Required]• Technical skills and aptitudes in computer-related applications or functions in Information Systems-related aspects of laboratory testing and processes [Required]• Demonstrated creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills [Required]• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills [Required]• Ability to read text and numbers in English, and comprehend, measure, calculate, reason, and match [Required]• Rapid learner [Required]• Microsoft Office suite experience; proficient in PowerPoint and Visio presentations [Required]• Knowledge of clinical/revenue cycle/business/technical workflow [Required]• Proficiency of related application suite of products (within 3 months of completing classes) [Required]
Education:
• Associate [Required]
Field of Study:
• in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Healthcare, or a related field
Work Experience:
• 5+ in clinical, revenue cycle, business or technical work and emr application/implementation [Preferred]• 5+ in leading teams and providing feedback; communicating complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience; and documenting workflow design and identifying areas for improvement [Required]
Additional Information:
• Yearly participation in ongoing education either formal or through conferences, active professional organization participation, or journal presentations is required.
• Epic Certification or ability to complete certification within 3 months of completing classes.
