Job Description:
Demonstrates knowledge of CMS requirements for HBOT coverage, including medical necessity and pre-certifications for third-party payors. Provides appropriate care for adult and geriatric patients undergoing Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT). Assists physicians with history and physical exams, documents assessments, and educates patients on therapy expectations and potential complications. Demonstrates competence in patient care before, during, and after HBOT, including monitoring vital signs, blood sugars, pressurization, and basic wound care with proper documentation. Monitors patients for symptoms of oxygen intolerance, claustrophobia, hypoglycemic reactions, decompression sickness, and other conditions, and intervenes appropriately. Collaborates with management and safety committees to ensure the safe operation and maintenance of the hyperbaric facility and equipment. Attends safety meetings, conference calls, and reviews memos to keep department policies and procedures current. Actively participates in departmental quality improvement activities, focusing on patient care and documentation. Performs routine preventive maintenance and cleaning of hyperbaric chambers and equipment, and coordinates emergency maintenance as needed. Maintains accurate documentation logs for equipment and maintenance activities. Communicates effectively with home care providers, family members, and referring and consulting physicians to coordinate patient care. Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Information:
• Completion of a 40 hour Underwater and Hyperbaric Medicine Society (UHMS) or National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine Technology (NBDHMT) or American College of Hyperbaric Medicine (ACHM) approved Hyperbaric Medicine Introductory Course [Preferred]
