Job Description:
Seasonal Registered Respiratory Therapist
Schedule: Per Diem
Shift: Nights
Compensation: $50 per hour plus shift differentials
Start Date: November 2026
- Manages mechanical ventilators, including setup, maintenance, transport, and monitoring per policy. Sets up and performs oximetry, apnea, TC, and ETCO2 monitoring as ordered.
- Performs respiratory and oxygen delivery therapies, making protocol-based recommendations.
- Utilizes patient assessment skills, protocols, and multidisciplinary team input to ensure effective, cost-efficient therapy.
- Analyzes and reports arterial blood gases and co-oximetry findings, performing quality controls as needed.
- Performs airway maintenance, including manual resuscitators, airway insertion, suctioning, extubation, tracheostomy assistance, tube changes, bronchoscopy, and respiratory support.
- Responds to Code Blue emergencies, providing CPR per American Heart Association guidelines.
- Accurately documents and charges for procedures to meet quality standards.
- Proactively initiates process improvements, assists with clinical instruction, and precepts new staff.
- Serves as a resource for lower-level therapists, supporting hospital and department goals.
- Practices standard precautions and enforces safety regulations. Conducts bedside spirometry, overnight oximetry studies, and six-minute walk tests.

Field of Study:

Graduate from an AMA approved program by the National Board of Respiratory Care in Respiratory Therapy
Work Experience:
-
1+ year clinical experience in acute care setting [Required]

1+ year critical care including ventilator management [Preferred]

NBRC credentials must be maintained as a condition of continued role eligibility

All States: Require NBRC for new hires, and incumbents

Florida Exception: legacy incumbents may continue working and may transfer within Florida without a NBRC active credential, subject to an approved, time -limited transition period.
