Job Description:

The Regional Director of accounting will:

• Oversees general accounting functions, including accounts payable, payroll, and monthly financial statement preparation.
• Analyzes healthcare finance operating metrics and key indicators with excellent analytical skills.
• Provides leadership and support to staff, including training, guidance, troubleshooting, issue escalation, and project prioritization. Identifies and resolves problems in accounting and reporting processes, initiating changes to improve processes.
• Leads and supports continuous improvement activities by analyzing metrics and implementing system modifications and process changes.
• Assists the manager in ensuring department compliance with established policies and procedures, adhering to government regulations.
• Implements and monitors key performance indicators and productivity goals, identifying root causes for variances and reporting key findings to leadership. Applies thorough knowledge and strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), internal controls, and operational accounting processes. Completes double entry accounting and understands routine accounting functions. Establishes and ensures the effectiveness of internal controls. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be experienced in the use of all office-related business equipment, which includes computers and their peripherals, printer, fax, copier, phone, and calculator.
• Must also be proficient and possess current working knowledge in the use of MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Internet. Proficiency in PeopleSoft preferred.
• Thorough knowledge and strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), internal controls, and operational accounting processes required.
• Complete understanding of double entry accounting and needs an operational understanding of routine accounting functions. Strong knowledge of healthcare finance operating analysis and key indicators and excellent analytical skills required.
• Ability to handle a large number of tasks and projects at one time with the ability to oversee and manage simultaneous projects required.
• Ability to communicate well orally and in writing, including the ability to communicate well with executives required.
• Must possess a working knowledge of information flow and a sound understanding of the operation of physician practices.
• Must have a proven ability to organize work flow and communicate effectively to superiors and motivate subordinate personnel. Strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity and professionalism required.
• Ability to work cross-functionally to achieve organizational goals and execute and follow through to completion required.

Pay Range:

$130,187.20 – $242,153.60
