The role you will contribute:
The Executive Director of Internal Communications will ensure planning and execution of effective communications that strengthens the culture of the organization and supports the successful implementation of the organization's strategic plan, currently known as Vision 2030. The person in this position will have primary responsibility for leading teams focused on internal and culture communications as well as transition communications for the strategic aspirations. This position will have a peer relationship with the Executive Director of External Communications. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in corporate communications with a strong background in internal communications. This position will provide communications consulting and counsel for company executives and as well as all levels of leadership. Strong overall management skills are critical for effectively leading team members and recruiting and developing talent within the team. This position will also actively serve as a role-model for our mission, values and service standards. They will demonstrate outstanding customer service and build and maintaining strong and healthy relationships with communications leaders throughout the organization.

Support the Vice President of Enterprise Communications in developing and executing communications plans for internal audiences that strengthen culture and help transform the organization in support of Vision 2030.
Collaborate with system and market leadership to ensure company-wide alignment for internal communications.
Develop relationships with key internal stakeholders to facilitate effective planning and design for communications.
Lead and participate in cross-functional committees to plan, coordinate and deliver projects in partnership with other internal collaborators and peers.
Promote collaboration and the sharing of ideas and perspectives with other internal functions and stakeholders.
Provide strategic direction and direct supervision to Communications Directors and other team members in communications.
Work in close collaboration with the Executive Director of External Communications and Vice President of Strategic Planning and their leadership and team members.
Work with system executives and aspiration leaders to plan and execute effective communications.
Provide communications counsel and support for executive leadership.
Provide strong leadership, role-modeling, and mentorship for directors, managers and team members within Corporate Communications.
Maintain highest standards of ethics and accuracy.
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
Bachelor's in communications or related discipline (public relations, journalism, organizational, business administration).
7 years of experience leading a communications or public relations team.
Proven results delivering successful internal and external communication campaigns.
Experience working and collaborating with corporate and hospital leaders on major initiatives.
Strong organization skills.
Proven ability to collaboratively develop, articulate and execute effective communications strategies.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in understandable terms to all levels of staff.
Effective computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel.
Ability to work in a matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goals.
Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint.
Strong working relationships with communications leaders in AdventHealth markets.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's in business administration, public administration, or communications-related field preferred
10 years of experience leading a communications or public relations team
Accredited in Public Relations (APR)
Certified Public Relations Counselor (CPRC)
