The role you'll contribute:
Supervises day-to-day operations and evaluates, trains, and schedules phlebotomist and, or lab assistant schedules. Responsible for managing assigned selected aspects of laboratory processes or shifts, which may include workflow, quality control process, performance improvement activities, training of new employees, advanced problem solving for customers and coworkers, department equipment or computer maintenance and upgrades.

Evaluates and monitors program needs, identifies unmet needs, and evaluates program services and staff
Performs assigns and oversees pre-analytical laboratory activities, which may include general equipment maintenance, function checks and documentation; inventory control and supply stocking; blood specimen collection; biological specimen processing; cleaning and disinfection of selected or assigned laboratory equipment and spaces; and other pre-analytical activities. Provides and acts on technical and support information related to the elements of laboratory testing for all age groups, from neonates through geriatric patients.
Supports staff using effective scheduling, workload assignments, and troubleshooting problems; motivates high performance and productivity from employees.
Actively participates in, and has knowledge of, laboratory and hospital Performance Improvement activities, including resolution of customer services issues, evaluation of new equipment and/or procedures or methods, preparation and review of staff quality and efficiency reports; and monitoring staff performance to enforce technical and service standards.
Assists department leadership with department staffing, including interviewing replacement staff members as appropriate, ensuring appropriate orientation of new employees, ongoing training, coaching, mentoring and documented competency assessment; acts as a proficient resource for all departmental tasks and training. Assists with the coordination/facilitation of the clinical experience of students in a AdventHealth or affiliated education program.
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications :
High School Education or equivalent
Two years of related laboratory experience.
Driver's License if required by facility.
Preferred qualification:
Associate's degree in a related field
Three years of technical experience
One years of leadership/management experience.
MLA(ASCP) or PBT(ASCP)
In licensure states, Laboratory Supervisor Level Licensure in appropriate specialty(ies) for the department or location assignment as applicable to the state -OR -
In non-licensure states, must hold a national certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist such as ASCP, AAB, or AMT unless grandfathered per state requirement.
