Job Description:

Conducts comprehensive assessments to include risk assessment and establishes therapy treatment objectives. Administers individual, family, and group therapy sessions. Evaluates patient data; develops and implements treatment plans. Documents therapy observations and maintains records, adhering to confidentiality protocols. Evaluates patient progress and therapy intervention effectiveness. Provides referrals for patients within the agency and community. Works directly with patients, family members, physicians, and community providers to ensure collaborative and continuous care. Identifies and intervenes for suspected abuse, including sensitivity to age-specific concerns. Other duties as assigned. Demonstrates working knowledge of the involuntary commitment process. Participates in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, providing clinical input. Formulates discharge plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary treatment team, the patient, and the family, ensuring outpatient appointments are scheduled upon inpatient discharge.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Demonstrate specialized knowledge and skills for effective clinical interventions with individuals, families, couples and groups. [Required]
• Knowledgeable in developing appropriate discharge plans that provide continuity of care based on the individual patient’s needs in collaboration with multidisciplinary team. [Required]
• Knowledgeable about community services and the ability to make appropriate referrals as needed. [Required]
• Knowledgeable about adequate safeguards for the private nature of the treatment relationship. [Required]
• Ability to provide culturally competent service delivery in accordance with the NASW Standards for Cultural competencies in Social Work Practice. [Required]
• Requires knowledge of the principles, laws, and practices of social work in a psychiatric hospital setting. [Required]
• Advanced clinical practice skills. [Preferred]

Education:

• Master’sfrom an accredited program in social work, counseling, psychology or a related field [Required]

Field of Study:

• N/A

Work Experience:

• 2+ years of experience as a clinical social worker in a psychiatric hospital setting [Preferred]
• Experience should include individual, group, and family therapy and discharge planning in an acute care psychiatric setting. [Preferred]
• Post graduate experience in a psychiatric hospital setting. [Preferred]
