Job Description:
Educates patients about the exam and complete all exams in a timely manner, maintaining workflow and minimizing empty table time. Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages. Practicing infection control standards and using approved PPE and disinfectant agents. Performs high-quality CT examinations in accordance with provider orders and departmental protocols, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis. Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams. Reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications. Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of patient care. Positions patients accurately and comfortably, using immobilization devices when necessary, while ensuring radiation safety and ALARA principles are maintained. Supports scheduling of personnel to provide adequate coverage during all
hours of operation, using flexible staffing when appropriate. Oversees quality control testing, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting. Serves as a resource to department staff and other team members as needed. Performs team member orientation, training, and coaching, and provides input for performance evaluations. Promotes a positive patient experience by ensuring service excellence, effective communication, and the delivery of timely, high-quality care by the team. Leads, organizes, and directs daily CT department workflow of patients, technologists, and students. Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems. Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s, High School Grad or Equiv (Required)American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT) – EV Accredited Issuing Body, Basic Life Support – CPR Cert (BLS) – RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement, Certified Radiologic Technologist (R.T.-CERT) – EV Accredited Issuing Body, Department of Safety and Professional Services Licensed (DSPS-LIC) – Accredited Issuing Body, Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (KBMIRT) – EV Accredited Issuing Body, Licensed Radiology Technologist – Kansas State Board of Healing Arts (L.R.T.) – Accredited Issuing Body, Medical Radiation Technology – IEMA (MRT-IEMA) – EV Accredited Issuing Body, Medical Radiologic Tech (MRT) – EV Accredited Issuing Body, Registered Technologist – Radiography (R.T.(R)(ARRT)) – EV Accredited Issuing Body
