Job Description:
-
Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, psychosocial, environmental, and developmental health status.
-
Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely, monitor patient responses, and document all related activities accurately.
-
Document patient assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes in medical records to ensure continuity of care.
-
Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and preventive care.
-
Collaborate with healthcare providers, specialists, and support staff to ensure cohesive and comprehensive care delivery.
-
Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency situations to stabilize and provide necessary care to patients.
-
Monitor patient status continuously, noting any significant changes or concerns, and report findings to the healthcare team.
-
Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary data and materials are prepared.
-
Promote a safe environment by identifying and addressing potential safety hazards for patients, visitors, and staff.
-
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, monitor patient outcomes, and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices.
-
Supervise and delegate tasks to unlicensed personnel based on their competence and scope of practice, ensuring safe and efficient care delivery.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements.

The LPN will display proficient clinical skills and critical thinking skills with strong communication skills.

Basic computer skills and experience with an electronic health record.
-
Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation proficiency as required by unit specialty.
-
Comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theory and practices.
-
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and others of diverse backgrounds.
-
Ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast pace, high patient volume environment.
-
Mental and emotional stability, demonstrating a courteous and calm approach to all contacts with patients, visitors, and health care team members.

Mature judgment and the ability to handle confidential information within applicable regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

High School Grad or Equiv Required

Technical/Vocational School Required
Work Experience:

1+ in an acute care setting Preferred
