Job Description:
- Manages and directs leadership team, ensuring they carry out assigned priorities, meet departmental objectives, and follow hospital policies and procedures.
- Develops and maintains monitoring and reporting systems to ensure patient access and accounts receivable activities meet quality, productivity, and reimbursement goals.
- Develops and maintains knowledge of payer billing requirements to ensure proper and timely reimbursement.
- Ensures compliance with Federal, State, local, and industry regulations.
- Develops and monitors departmental budget, taking necessary actions to keep expenses within budgetary constraints.
- Develops plans and initiates actions to ensure compliance with organizational targets and standards.
- Develops systems and processes to ensure prompt, friendly, and accurate operations.
- Coordinates and maintains processes and resources to effectively bill and collect all hospital patient accounts receivable within established thresholds.
- Implements and enforces departmental and hospital policies and procedures for successful operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Manages all levels of personnel management, including recruitment, orientation, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, counseling, and terminations.
- Maximizes hospital cash flow and maintains days in accounts receivable to rank with top performers in the healthcare industry.
- Develops and implements quality initiatives and participates in strategic planning.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Excellent and effective interpersonal, verbal and writing skills [Required]• Minimum mid-level competency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Power Point [Required]• Healthcare billing standards and regulations [Required]• Ability to successfully function independently with minimal supervision [Required]• Knowledge of ADT, patient accounting and electronic claims submission applications, especially Cerner applications (patient access, scheduling, patient accounting) [Preferred]• Speaking/Presentation skills [Preferred]
Education:
• Bachelor’s [Required]• Master’s [Preferred]
Field of Study:
• in Health Services Administration, Business Administration, or related field
Work Experience:
• 5+ healthcare receivables, patient access management, or related field [Required]• 8+ experience in healthcare receivables, patient access management or related field [Preferred]
