Job Description:
• Manages all aspects of the Learning Technologies team, and the multiple Medical Simulation Centers and Labs across the AdventHealth system to ensure a smooth and efficient operation. Able to sort priorities, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and accomplish those of greatest importance. Maintains awareness of management responsibilities and project status to minimize delays effectively while maintaining quality.
• Serves as an expert liaison to Acute Care Services, Integrated Health Services, and all Support business units (Finance, Clinical, People, Strategy, and Learning) for all aspects of learning technologies, simulations, training, exercises and resuscitation certification. Provides counsel, assistance and guidance for simulated learning curriculum development, course/scenario development and facilitation, and post-course evaluation.
• Architects, deploys, and operates a system-wide clinical simulation management IT system that uses web-based technologies to capture, organize, and analyze AdventHealth’ s full spectrum of simulation training efforts and associated data/metrics
• Plans, designs, implements and develops evaluation measures for simulation-based learning. Integrates simulation learning into new and existing curriculum aligned with organizational, campus and specialty goals, outcomes and strategies. Advises system and campus educators on improving learning outcomes using simulation scenarios and technologies.
• Develops and integrates critical thinking simulations and skills training into new hire orientations and clinical curriculum to improve and standardize new employees’ performance. Utilizes principles of education and adult learning to provide opportunities and experiences for professional growth consistent with the Novice to Expert continuum.
• Leads the department’s budget process, including planning, programming, budgeting and execution of multiple teams and cost centers. Develops and manages department budgets and budgets for capital and operational equipment, staff and supplies. Manages the labor needs and training of the departments.
• Leads all strategic planning efforts and organizational program execution within Learning Technologies, Simulation & Training that supports human capital needs. This includes employees, agency and non-employed (contractor) associates. Develops strategic simulation framework development for system-wide medical simulation, training and resuscitation certification. Forecasts and manages all Learning Technologies, Simulation & Training resources (facilities, instrumentation systems, learners, instructors, facilitators, operations specialists, role players, simulators, task trainers and supplies).
• Determines the needs of the system, campus, departments, service lines/strategic business units, leaders and staff related to simulation learning, education, training, learning technologies, training, exercises and resuscitation certification. Plans all aspects of facility expansion and prioritizes work based on the identified needs of internal customers relative to the system-level strategic initiatives assessment.
• Continually assesses opportunities for improvement in all aspects of simulation and learning technologies. Identifies and incorporates new technologies into existing learning environments.
• Identifies and coordinates the management of risk and quality assurance issues that arise, escalating unresolved problems to the appropriate decision-making bodies, as needed.
• Routinely audits Simulation Labs/Centers courses, AdventHealth University academic programs and GME programs to ensure adherence to simulation best practices and quality assurance.
• Partners with healthcare simulation community of interest on all aspects of improving best practices in simulation learning including curriculum development, simulation space utilization, and simulation staff training techniques to improve patient outcomes, patient safety and staff safety.
• Develops strategic relationships in the system, local community and across the national and international simulation community, including hospital industry, vendors, government, military, and academia. Partners appropriately on all aspects of simulation learning including curriculum development, simulation space and research.
• Oversees the coordination of all aspects of planning, facilitating, and executing simulation courses, conferences and workshops. Conducts post-simulation debriefings, trains educators in best practice debriefing skills, and standardizes the debriefing model across the system.

Education:
• Master's [Required]
Field of Study:
• In Simulation, Technology, Education, Healthcare, Administration, or related field of study
Work Experience:
• 7+ years of leadership experience in: healthcare, training, exercise development, leadership development or simulation [Required]• 8+ years of leadership experience in: healthcare, training, exercise development, leadership development or simulation [Preferred]
