Job Description:
Schedule & Shift: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm
Location: AdventHealth Orlando Ginsburg Tower
- Works with the Regional Orthopedic Institute team to develop and review orthopedic clinical policies and procedures.
- Develops patient education and community outreach materials in collaboration with marketing to inform the community and increase market share.
- Monitors performance metrics and ensures compliance with activities required to achieve and maintain practice-specific certifications.
- Conducts daily rounds on in-patients with physicians to ensure desired patient outcomes and coordinates care issues with the interdisciplinary team.
- Collaborates with case management on post-op discharge planning and strategies to decrease length of stay.
- Partners with nursing to develop strategies to improve Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) scores and meet organizational goals.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to be flexible and function in a stressful, fast-changing environment.
• Must possess advanced knowledge in the specialty of Orthopedics and Orthopedic Nursing.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook & Power Point preferred.
• Skilled in providing age-appropriate education.
• Professional and leadership skills, ability to interact appropriately with patients, families, treatment team, and physicians regarding care management interventions and illness adjustment issues.
• Advanced knowledge of adult orthopedic treatment, care, and prevention.
Education:
• Associate's of Nursing [Required]• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
Work Experience:
• 1+ orthopedic nursing experience [Required]• 1+ hospital floor setting
Licenses and Certifications:
• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]• Basic Life Support – CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]• Certified Orthopaedic Nurse (ONC) [Preferred]
