Job Description:
-
Manages daily operations, educational, and strategic planning for Graduate Medical Education.
-
Collaborates with Program Directors and Chief Academic Officer to ensure accreditation readiness for site visits, self-study reviews, Clinical Learning Environment Reviews (CLER), and other quality and growth activities.
-
Oversees institutional accreditation, including annual updates, reports, Annual Institutional Review (AIR), and GMEC Special Review process. Develops GMEC AIR and Special Review protocols for troubled programs and participates in reviews as needed.

Co-chairs and facilitates Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC) and Chief Academic Officer (CAO) meetings.

Actively participates in the GMEC Quality and Safety Subcommittee to address deficiencies in the Clinical Learning Environment.

Reviews reports and responses for compliance with ACGME's CLER Pathways. Ensures resident and fellow participation in hospital patient safety, quality initiatives, and research projects.

Develops and maintains templates and processes for Annual Program Evaluations (APE) to meet accreditation standards and implement continuous improvement models.

Provides education and resources to the Program Evaluation Committee and participates in reviews when needed.

Develops and implements Institutional and Program Performance Indicators using a GME Scorecard and New Innovations Residency Management System.

Develops, implements, and monitors GME budgets, authorizing physician and department expenses.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-
Ability to utilize principles of management to manage a diverse group of employees [Required]
-
Ability to organize, provide leadership in communicating and implementing departmental vision and program goals and objectives [Required]

Strong working knowledge of accreditation requirements [Required]
-
Working knowledge of financial management and CMS reimbursement for the training programs [Required]
-
Advanced knowledge of accreditation requirements [Preferred]
-
Working knowledge of establishing new residency programs [Preferred]
-
Working knowledge of physician contracting [Preferred]
Education:
-
Bachelor's in Business, Education, Healthcare Administration or other related field [Required]
-
Master's in applicable discipline such as Business Administration, Education, Public Health, or other related field [Preferred]
Work Experience:
-
5+ experience overseeing/directing graduate medical education programs [Required]
-
5+ Leadership and change management experience [Required]
-
6+ documented GME leadership experience [Preferred]
