Job Description:

Regional Float Pool Differential Additional $10/ Hour

Perform and document accurate initial and ongoing assessments to evaluate patient conditions and needs.

Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to address identified patient needs and goals.

Administer medications accurately and appropriately as ordered, monitoring patient responses and adjusting interventions as necessary.

Supervise and guide nursing personnel in delivering safe, therapeutic, and quality patient care, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.

Provide patient and family education about the care plan, medications, procedures, and other relevant information to ensure understanding and compliance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes.

• Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows based programs.

• Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills).

• 1 year of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting.

• Equipment use to stabilize and monitor patients (IV insertion, central lines, pulse ox, NG tubes, Foley, chest tubes, hemodynamics monitoring), including electronic medical record and automated dispensing medication system (pyxis).

• Proficient clinical skills, critical thinking skills, and strong communication skills.

• Commitment to hourly patient rounding and EKG interpretation class.

• Frequent independent judgment, sound professional judgment and critical-thinking skills in clinical situations, including clinical assessment, data, and patient response.

• Ability to continuously prioritize multiple duties and function in a calm and professional manner during stressful situations.

• General knowledge of professional nursing principles and techniques, and the pharmacological process in the appropriate administration or delivery of medications.

• Skill to maintain effective working relationships with health professionals and others to create an environment conducive to carrying out the mission of the facility.

• Ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively to direct the overall professional nursing services in a manner which encourages the open exchange of ideas and information.

• Will float to appropriate departments within scope, skill/ability, and credentials.

• Organizational and multi-tasking skills, knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures, and the ability to work as a team player within a unit.

• Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills.

• EKG (based on patient population; see document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements).

• Associate's of Nursing [Required]

• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
