Job Description:

Other duties as assigned. Promotes a healthy and safe environment for patients. Assists physicians and advanced providers during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Recognizes and responds appropriately to changes in patient health status. Collaborates and communicates effectively with the patient and interprofessional team to ensure quality and continuity of care. Acts as a resource and mentor for other staff members. Documents nursing care accurately and completely. Assesses and documents patient health data systematically. Establishes nursing diagnoses based on assessment data. Plans and implements individualized nursing interventions. Provides education to patients, families, and caregivers before, during, and after procedures. Administers and evaluates pharmacological and therapeutic treatments. Evaluates outcomes of nursing interventions and adjust care plans as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to function at a high level in a physically demanding, high-stress environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work under stressful conditions
  • Ability to work irregular hours including call hours
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft® Word and the ability to navigate Microsoft Windows based programs
  • Displays working knowledge of endoscopic techniques
  • Experience in critical care environments such as ICU, CCU, PCU, PACU, or similar settings is [Preferred]
  • Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions, and revise the plan of care according to patient outcomes
  • Familiarity with Cerner electronic documentation is [Preferred]

Education:

  • Associate's of Nursing [Required]
  • Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Work Experience:

  • 1+ years acute care nursing experience [Required]
  • 2+ years endoscopy experience [Preferred]

Additional Information:

  • CNIM (Certification in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring) Upon Hire Preferred

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
  • Basic Life Support – CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Preferred]
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Preferred]
