Job Description:

*Must be willing to travel between Oneida, Pineville and Redbird

Prepares and administers medication/immunization injections as directed by the provider. Coordinates physician office schedules with front office staff to ensure efficient use of physician time.

Places patients in the examining room and ensures their comfort.

Performs EHR intake entry by reviewing medication lists, allergies, and other pertinent information.

Obtains vital signs, secures complaints, and enters information into the patient’s electronic medical record. Assists physicians/providers with patient examinations and treatments.

Assists in office surgeries using sterile procedure guidelines and sets up procedure equipment.

Performs phlebotomy and laboratory tests as required, adhering to state and federal regulations.

Screens telephone calls for physicians/providers and takes accurate clinical messages.

Performs triage duties according to practice protocols. Ensures exam room equipment is clean and properly set up before each patient encounter.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Use of Computers, telephone, fax machine, copier, stethoscope, EKG machine, pulse oximeter, oxygen devices, wheelchairs, stretchers, scales, glucose monitor, and other patient care equipment necessary to perform required duties as appropriate to the scope of the practice. [Required]• Customer service skills [Preferred]• Medical terminology [Preferred]• Proficiency must be attained via on-the-job training, and orientation, within 3 months. [Preferred]

Education:
• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Field of Study:
• N/A

Work Experience:
• Customer service experience in medical office [Preferred]

Additional Information:
• completed an accredited Medical Assistant program [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:
• Basic Life Support – CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]• American Association Medical Assistants (CMA) [Required] OR Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) [Required] OR Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) [Required] OR National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) [Required] OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) [Required] OR Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) [Required]
