Job Description:

Shift : Full Time Days

Schedule: Monday – Friday

Location: Central Florida area within person meetings.

Provides overall leadership and support to Senior Accountants and Accountants to ensure they perform all accounting activities within the department. Manages period end close activities for corporate business units and allocation to all business units. Monitors and reviews the reconciliation of transactions between the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers, including accounts payable, inventory, payroll, and revenue, and guides the team in making appropriate adjustments. Ensures compliance with company accounting policies and accounting standards, and proposes new polices or changes to existing policies to enforce standardization and efficiency. Assists with training development and delivery for end users on all accounting activities. Coordinates and liaises closely with other teams and leadership, facility finance and materials management leadership, and Corporate Finance. Supports internal and external audit activities. Responsible for the establishment and effectiveness of internal controls. Monitors accounting service level agreement performance, researches noncompliance instances, and remedies processes and procedures to correct instances of noncompliance. Leads and supports continuous improvement processes within accounting, including analyzing metrics and identifying needed system modifications and process changes. Accomplishes accounting objectives by assisting with recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning and allocating resources, coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff as appropriate. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office [Required]
• Proficiency in PeopleSoft [Preferred]
• Familiarity with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) [Required]
• Ability to handle a large number of tasks and projects at one time [Required]
• Excellent organizational skills; ability to perform complex mathematical and accounting processes [Required]
• Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records, prepare complex spreadsheets using Excel [Required]
• Advanced analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills [Required]
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills [Required]
• Must be able to demonstrate success in collaborative, interpersonal relationships and project facilitation [Required]
• Complete understanding of double entry accounting and an understanding of routine accounting functions [Required]
• Working knowledge of information flow and a sound understanding of the operation of hospital departments [Required]
• Proven ability to organize workflow and communicate effectively to superiors and motivate subordinate employees [Required]
• Outstanding organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills [Required]
• Exceptional attention to detail for accuracy [Required]
• Team building and collaboration [Required]
• Ability to identify issues and take initiative for process improvement and problem resolution [Required]
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work proactively in teams with a high attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and balance work in a face-paced, deadline-oriented environment with a high level of responsibility and ownership [Required]
