Job Description:
Shift: Must be willing to workdays, nights, holidays, weekends, and call.
Address: 900 Winderley Place, Suite 2200 Maitland, Florida 32751
- Accurately distributes organs and/or specimens to transplant centers, labs and/or airports.
- Uploads pulsatile preservation data to the national organ sharing IT platform to facilitate timely communication with potential accepting centers.
- Ensures all aspects of the organ recovery process are performed to optimal levels in accordance with regulatory policies, and organizational procedures.
- Ensures stewardship of all donated organs and provides access to transplant programs by performing all perfusion, packaging, labeling and regulatory documentation in an expedited manner.
- Independently performs all aspects of kidney pulsatile preservation including cannulation, machine set-up and parameter adjustments, monitoring, trouble shooting and reporting requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong demonstrated operating room knowledge and skill. [Required]
• Good oral, written, and interpersonal skills, strong analytical and organizational skills. [Required]
• Mastery of sterile and aseptic techniques in the operating room. [Required]
• Ability to multitask with attention to detail. [Required]
• Excellent critical thinking skills and independent judgment. [Required]
• The ability to make time-critical decisions. [Required]
• Ability to First Assist. [Preferred]
• Heart, lung, liver, kidney perfusion. [Preferred]
• Understanding of OPTN standards for organ packaging and labeling. [Preferred]
• Must have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care which addresses the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety age-appropriate needs of the patient populations served within the department. [Required]
Education:
• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
Work Experience:
• 2+ years related experience [Required]
Licenses and Certifications:
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required] OR
• Technician in Surgery – Certified (NTSC) [Required]
• Driver's License (DL) [Required]
