Job Description:
This position is at our Gynecologic Oncology Clinic at AdventHealth, Denver CO
2+ Years of Experience required (No New Grads)
2+ Years of experience $149,563 and 3+ years of experience $164,194
Provides education and support for patients and staff involved in the care of patients. Demonstrates a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach in directing efforts toward the attainment of desired patient outcomes in a cost effective
manner in area of specialty. Assumes personal accountability for organizational mission and core values. Expedite and coordinate patient evaluation and care.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 25% inpatient rounding and 75% clinic support (postop/pre-chemo toxicity and clearance, survivorship, genetics evaluation, and cancer surveillance)
- Performs triage of patients on the floor, in ER, or calling from home and helps to coordinate appropriate response and attending/on-call physician involvement
- Prescribes pharmacologic agents and nonpharmacological therapies according to standard protocol
- Provides symptom management for side effects related to oncologic treatment and surgery.
- Provides consultation to nursing, medical, case management and ancillary departments as requested for inpatients and outpatients
- Coordinates with attending physicians to communicate results to patients (radiographic, laboratory, and pathologic) in a timely manner as well as coordinating requisite follow up as needed
ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES
- Educates patients and their families regarding examination findings, abnormal laboratory results, treatment pIan, and appropriate follow-up and implications for health and recovery.
- Develops/implements/evaluates appropriate materials to facilitate the education of patients/families.
- Provides daily informal education to other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes.
- Provides formal education to staff at least quarterly in varying formats.
- Develops, coordinates &/or participates in community education program.
- Assists physicians in developing and revising clinical practice guidelines.
- Determines eligibility of patients for entry into clinical trials based on findings.
- Presents outcomes to staff, physicians, and administration in varying formats.
- Incorporates current standard of care and evidence-based guidelines into daily practice.
- Represents clinical nursing leadership on departments and/or hospital committees/projects in area of specialty.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Master's degree in nursing as Nurse Practitioner, from a nationally accredited postgraduate certificate program. must be a graduate from an Accredited School of Nursing.
- Master's Degree (Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program)
- Certification by N.C.P.P.A
- Experience in Gynecologic / Oncology or Oncology Preferred
- 2+ Years of Experience required. (No New Grads)
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
- PA- Active state Physician Assistant License
- APN – Registered Nurse Practitioner Licensure for; and listed on the state Advanced Practice Nurse (APN)
- Board certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, in applicable population foci and/or subspecialty.
- Active RN License
- Active BLS
- Active ACLS
- RXN I RXN-P-Have Prescriptive Authority (RXN) or have Provisional Prescriptive Authority (RXN-P), if applicable for role with associated articulated plan.
