Job Description:

Other duties as assigned. Demonstrates detailed technical knowledge and troubleshooting ability for anesthesia delivery systems and related equipment, responding to and investigating all anesthesia machine alarms. Inventories, orders, and maintains departmental supply stock, ensuring medications are secured and properly disposed of, and monitors refrigerators for medication stock. Promotes a safe environment, performs appropriate actions in emergency situations, and ensures adherence to regulatory standards and facility policies. Provides training and orientation to staff and new personnel for both routine and complex cases, assisting in the development of training programs and maintaining competency through departmental in-service training. Assists anesthesia providers with patient assessment, monitoring, transporting, positioning, insertion of intravenous and other invasive lines, and airway management. Provides routine and emergency services for anesthesiologists, including preparation and draping of patients for invasive monitoring and procedures. Maintains and troubleshoots anesthesia equipment, ensuring necessary equipment and supply inventory remain in stock. Sets up operating rooms, Cath labs, and IR labs for cases, including preparation of laryngoscope, intubation equipment, IV solution, tubing, and warming devices. Makes available, assembles, and assists with the operation of specialized equipment such as humidification units, fiber optic endoscopic equipment, rapid infusion devices, blood warmers, patient warming devices, neuromuscular devices, infusion pumps, and syringes. Participates in the process for blood component verification as needed. Maintains and organizes the anesthesia environment, equipment, supplies, and personnel to facilitate department functions and ensure efficient flow of cases.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals [Required]• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry [Required]• Knowledge and basic skills related to aseptic/ sterile technique and sterility of supplies [Required]• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required]• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]

Education:
• High School Grad or Equiv [Preferred]

Field of Study:
• or GED

Work Experience:
• 2+ experience as an anesthesia tech [Required]• Experience working in the clinical setting related to area of speciality [Preferred]
