Job Description:
Schedule:
PRN position with variable scheduling based on patient volume.
Shifts generally begin at 5:30 AM and typically ends at 12:00 PM, with flexibility required as shift lengths may vary.
PRN Rate: $45.39/hour
- Assesses and documents patients and family's needs to provide necessary data for quality care.
- Gathers and analyzes data to formulate initial nursing care and discharge plans.
- Identifies and reports patient condition abnormalities to anesthesia or surgeon.
- Observes and assesses assigned patients during their stay in the outpatient surgery department.
- Documents medications, drug allergies, and patient information.
- Implements and documents nursing interventions and physician's orders accurately and promptly.
- Prepares and administers medications, IV fluids, and blood products according to orders and hospital policy.
- Coordinates scheduling and preparation for various procedures.
- Communicates with patients and families, providing pre-op and post-op education and addressing their needs.
- Utilizes the Computerized Physician Order entry process and proficiently uses the Electronic Medical Record for retrieval of patient information.
- Maintains a safe environment by checking equipment, stocking supplies, and reporting safety concerns.
- Participates in professional development and maintain required certifications and competencies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High level of organizational skills. [Required]
- Computer skills required. [Required]
Education:
- Associate's of Nursing [Required]
- Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
Field of Study:
- N/A
Work Experience:
- 1+ previous experience as RN on surgical floor or recovery room, preferably surgical unit [Required]

- Basic Life Support – CPR Cert (BLS) [Required[
- Added Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
