Job Description:

• Performs the duties of a security officer, ensuring the safety and security of the campus.
• Participates in monitoring, guiding, and evaluating staff performance to maintain high standards.
• Contributes to efficient operations by coordinating activities, prioritizing workflow, and promoting decision-making and problem-solving.
• Reviews staff reports for accuracy, clarity, and completeness to ensure proper documentation.
• Investigates, documents, and manages security incidents and hazards, addressing escalated or unresolved issues.
• Identifies recurring security operational issues, collaborates with leadership to develop solutions, and works with the Security Management team on implementation.
• Assists the Security Supervisor/Manager with shift staffing, organizational planning, budget preparation, staff development, and Committee Chair responsibilities.
• Operates vehicles safely to avoid accidents and traffic or parking violations. Reads, comprehends, writes, and understands legal reports, narratives, and safety rules, and communicates effectively through clear speech and hearing.
• Utilizes computer literacy to use basic hospital/security applications and information management systems.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Working knowledge of CCTV, Access Control, and other security systems Continuum, Milestone, CCure, etc [Preferred]

Education:

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
• Technical/Vocational School [Required]

Work Experience:

• 1+ experience [Required]
• 2+ healthcare security experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) [Required]
• Driver's License (DL) [Required]
• Basic Life Support – CPR Cert (BLS) [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$19.41 – $36.10
