Job Description:
Supports the execution of division-wide communications strategies that position the organization, its clinicians, and leaders as national leaders in health care. Identifies and produces stories that highlight clinical excellence, mission, and community impact. Collaborates with internal communications, social media, and video teams to execute external communication strategies. Assists manager(s) with day-to-day proactive and reactive media requests. Maintains strong relationships with internal stakeholders to facilitate effective communication. Supports the execution of media events. Gathers and analyzes audience research from media, social media, and other relevant channels. Produces weekly and monthly reports based on audience research to inform strategy. Conducts industry, market, and project-based research to support communication efforts. Uses knowledge of communications and media strategies to reach various key audiences. Ensures organization and efficiency in a fast-paced environment with daily deadlines. Participates in an on-call process to manage urgent communication needs. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Understanding of traditional media and newsroom operations [Required]• Strong news judgement [Required]• Strong writer [Required]• Proficiency in AP Style [Required]• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet frequent deadlines [Required]• Ability to lead-self in a high-volume, fast-paced organization [Required]• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills [Required]• Effective computer skills, particularly Word, Outlook and Excel [Required]
Education:
• Bachelors [Required]
Field of Study:
• in journalism, communications, public relations or related field
Work Experience:
• 1+ of experience in corporate communications, media/public relations, journalism; or equivalent internship experience [Required]• Experience building PowerPoint presentations [Preferred]• Experience working directly with media (TV, radio, newspaper, online news) in a media/ relations role, or as a working journalist [Preferred]
