Job Description:

• Maintains regional responsibility for standards of nursing practice, evidence-based quality and safety of patient care, performance improvement, and nursing leadership development for inpatient and outpatient nursing services by working collaboratively with hospital CNOs, hospital CEO’s, and other members of the regional Executive Team.
• Represents clinical services when attending meetings of the Board of Directors, Board Quality Subcommittee and Medical Executive Committee. Represents Clinical Services and the safe delivery of patient care at Advent Health corporate.
• Acts as a representative for AdventHealth within Texas Health Resources (THR) representing clinical services within THR and Nursing Executive Leadership meetings. Assures synergy with clinical efforts for AdventHealth within the THR Fort Worth community.
• Identify and articulate the purpose and strategic direction for the disciplines of patient care and collaborate on the implementation of strategies to achieve them.
• Lead, support and direct strategic imperatives set by the executive strategic plan. This includes service, quality data and scores and all other corporate and facility specific plans.
• Strategically plans initiative and directs new product lines and services set by executive team.
• Act as a liaison for physician concerns related to patient care, new services and other strategic initiatives.
• Provide leadership and direction for the development of strategies to promote the recruitment, retention, and recognition of Excellence in Nursing, including oversight and recommendations regarding compensation and benefit programs for nursing staff.
• Oversee safety and risk management, focusing on all opportunities to improve safety and reduce risk in all aspects of patient care.
• Provides leadership around High Reliability to include “Just Culture” and “Safe Choices” initiatives,
• Oversee pharmacy services, including regional pharmacy service at night and the service and safety initiatives of those services.
• Serve on multiple AdventHealth corporate teams representing the regional views and assisting AdventHealth corporate in strategies and initiatives related to patient care, Clinical Informatics, Evidence Based Care and Nursing Strategy.
• Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical programs and services, assuring appropriate resources for the delivery of care.
• Develops and support at culture of professional responsibility through Shared Governance and the support of front line teams.
• Serve as the senior spokesperson for clinical care. Advises the senior executive team and individual clinical groups (including the medical staff) by providing input about the implications of decisions and change on the quality of patient care, on nursing practice, and on nursing care providers.
• Provide leadership in the establishment of credentialing/privileging policies for nurses and ensures compliance with such policies for nurses who seek to practice and who practice.
• Promote and foster a multidisciplinary approach to patient care and the coordination of care among disciplines. Directs the “Model of Nursing”
• Assure that the patient care delivery model(s), and the clinical and staffing standards for patient care are consistent with current research and professional standards and with the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
• Provide strategic direction regarding centralized use of temporary services that provide patient care.
• Assure continuity and consistency of nursing and patient care across individual organizations.
• Assure that all clinical services are provided in compliance with all applicable standards and requirements of Joint Commission, the Texas Board of Nursing, CMS and all other applicable regulatory bodies. Assures Leapfrog standards are in compliance.
• Collaborate with the schools of nursing to ensure an effective learning environment for students.
• Oversee programs which support the nursing profession such as the Clinical Excellence Program, Nursing Internship Programs and ANCC certifications such as Pathways to Excellence/Magnet and other specialty certifications.

• Provide strategic oversight and guidance for the facility’s patient and workforce safety, ensuring clear goals, effective governance structures, and leadership accountability.
• Foster and sustain a facility-wide culture of safety that emphasizes psychological safety, continuous learning from harm and near-miss events, and meaningful engagement of patients, families, and the workforce.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing [Required]

• Master’s degree in Nursing, Business or Administration [Required]

Work Experience:

• A minimum of 5 years’ administrative experience with increasing scope of responsibility in a health care setting. [Required]
