Gynecologic Oncology Opportunity

AdventHealth Kansas City | Shawnee Mission, KS

AdventHealth in Kansas City is seeking a Gyn Oncologist to join one of the Midwest’s most established and respected Gyn Oncology programs. While we are looking for a physician with experience, recent fellows are also encouraged to apply. This is a unique opportunity to step into a high-functioning, growth-oriented practice with immediate patient volume, strong academic partnerships, and expanding research initiatives.

This role is ideal for a physician seeking: a high-volume, established practice with immediate impact; access to clinical trials and academic collaboration; a collegial, stable team environment; the ability to contribute to a growing, regionally dominant program.

A Program Built for Growth and Excellence

Join a team with a longstanding reputation for delivering high-quality, patient-centered oncology care across Kansas and Missouri. Patients travel from across the region—including rural communities—to access this program, reinforcing its role as a regional referral destination.

With continued growth and program expansion, this position offers both stability and opportunity to shape the future of the practice. This is also an opportunity to practice at one location, AdventHealth Shawnee Mission.

Why This Opportunity Stands Apart

Immediate Practice – No Ramp-Up Required

Step into a well-established patient base with strong referral patterns. This is not a startup opportunity—physicians are busy from day one with a consistent surgical volume.

Academic & Research Integration

  • Active collaboration with the University of Chicago
  • Strong alignment with NCI-supported research efforts
  • Launching additional clinical trials in the Spring of 2026, with opportunity to expand research interests

Advanced Surgical & Facility Investment

  • State-of-the-art, fully integrated Cancer Institute with clinic, infusion, imaging, pharmacy, and lab all in one location
  • Access to multiple Da Vinci robotic platforms
  • Ongoing multi-phase operating room modernization

Highly Integrated, Team-Based Care, One Location

Work within a comprehensive cancer program that includes medical and radiation oncology, dedicated gynecologic pathology, surgical subspecialties, pharmacy, nurse navigation, and social support services—all collaborating to deliver individualized care in one location, AdventHealth Shawnee Mission.

Collegial, Physician-Led Culture

This group is known for its supportive and collaborative environment, with physicians who have remained in the practice long-term. The culture emphasizes teamwork, mentorship, and shared commitment to excellence, creating a truly unique professional environment.

Practice Highlights

  • Join three Gynecologic Oncologists and a growing APP team
  • Integrated APP support for inpatient care, chemotherapy management, and call coverage
  • Balanced schedule of surgery and clinic within a highly efficient system
  • Call structure supported by APPs with shared weekend rotation

Key Requirements

  • Strong clinical and medical decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • A team-oriented physician who values collaboration and continuity of care
  • Board certified (or board eligible) in Gynecologic Oncology
