Job Description:

Facilitates both individual and group tutoring sessions based on curriculum and program coordinator’s discretion. Assists students in developing effective learning strategies and critical thinking skills using appropriate equipment and resources. Creates and maintains a tutoring schedule that is convenient for both the student and the tutor. Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of each tutoring session. Ensures strict confidentiality of all student information, materials, and discussions shared in the tutoring relationship. Performs front desk activities, including answering the phone, scheduling, and record keeping in the absence of the Tutor Coordinator. Proctors tests as needed. Tutors students for standardized admission tests such as TEAS and GRE. Provides motivation for learning and acts as a role model for peers. Answers students’ questions on course content and provides study strategies. Actively provides outstanding academic support service and maintains respectful relationships with all. Performs other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Associate’s [Required]
• Bachelor’s [Preferred]

Field of Study:

• Recommendation form or letter from either an instructor, teacher, professor, academic chair, employer, or volunteer supervisor to tutor a General Education course OR Recommendation form or letter from a Professional Program Instructor or Chair to tutor a Professional Program course

• Enrolled in an AS or BS Program at ADU

Work Experience:

Additional Information:

• An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the stated degree requirement:-Associates degree and 0+ years of experience OR
– High School Diploma and 2+ years of experience
