Job Description:

Attends department meetings and engages in positive dialogue to support department objectives. Obtains high-quality scans by following proper exam protocols and adapting procedures to each patient’s medical situation. Other duties as assigned. Confirms patient and exam accuracy using two patient identifiers before administering exams. Performs, documents, and reports all procedures in accordance with departmental policy. Reviews images and completes ultrasound worksheets promptly, re-scanning patients as requested by Radiologists. Communicates and collaborates with the multidisciplinary team, including notifying physicians of abnormal findings. Utilizes computer systems to update exam status, manage orders, and ensure accurate charges. Operates and maintains ultrasound equipment safely, adhering to infection control standards. Performs a full range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures and rotates between multiple departments as needed. Assists with clinical instructions and serves as a resource to less experienced employees. Participates in performance improvement activities and contributes to process improvement initiatives.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Abdomen, Abdominal Doppler, OB/Gyn, Small Parts, Vascular, and Interventional Sonographic procedures [Required]
• Ability to learn and master new tasks related to the computer and AGFA Pacs system [Required]
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds [Required]
• Ability to function independently with little or no supervision [Required]
• Ability to read and write legibly in English and perform basic mathematics skills [Required]
• Ability to communicate effectively [Required]
• Ability to perform venous ultrasound Doppler [Required]
• Ability for independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative [Required]
• Knowledge of PACS and associated equipment [Preferred]
• Good organizational skills [Preferred]
• Breast Sonography knowledge [Preferred]
• Pediatric and Neuro Sonography knowledge [Preferred]
• Basic EKG knowledge [Required]
• Computer proficiency in Word, Outlook [Required]

Education:

• Associate [Preferred]

Field of Study:

• N/A

Work Experience:

• 2+ years experience in vascular sonography [Preferred]

Additional Information:

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologies RT (BS) Preferred

Licenses and Certifications:

• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) [Required] OR

• Registered Technologist – Vascular Sonography (R.T.(VS)(ARRT)) [Required] OR

• Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) [Required] 

• Basic Life Support – CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

Pay Range:

$28.68 – $53.35
