Job Description:
• Represents to the Department Dean and Assistant Dean, regarding faculty and student needs, budget, program evaluation, space and equipment needs.
• Identifies appropriate community agency linkages for student learning experiences.
• Designs, coordinates, and implements program curriculum.
• Collaborates with departmental faculty for course development and oversight.
• Leads the institutional effectiveness process in their area of responsibility by implementing, monitoring, documenting, and completing all required assessment activities in a timely manner.
• Develops, designs, and delivers instruction in designated courses. Participates in student advising and mentorship.
• Actively engages in the institution’s committees as assigned by the President.
• Engages in the academic roles of teaching, service, scholarship, and research.
• Oversight of maintenance of accreditation for the MSN, Post-Graduate Certification and DNP Family Nurse Practitioner Program Tracks.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Identifies appropriate community agency linkages for student learning experiences [Required]• Participates in student scholarly activities [Required]• Designs, coordinates, and implements program curriculum [Required]• Engages in program planning and assessment at the department and institutional level [Required]• Engages in fiscal management and allocation of resources, including long-term planning [Required]• Completes faculty evaluations and communicates results to support ongoing faculty professional development [Required]• Assumes responsibility for program accreditation and annual reports to the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) [Required]• Develops, designs, and delivers instruction in courses [Required]• Participates in student advising and mentorship [Required]• History of scholarship in professional area of expertise [Preferred]
Education:
• Doctorate [Required]
Field of Study:
• (EdD, DNP or PhD) from a regionally accredited university
Work Experience:
• 2+ years Instructional design experience [Required]• 2+ years in developing nursing undergraduate programs [Required]• 2+ years Online education or instructional technology experience [Required]
• 3+ years of academic teaching experience [Preferred]
• 2+ years of experience in teaching in Graduate Nursing Programs [Preferred]
• 1+ year of experience as a Program Director [Preferred]
