Job Description:
Location: 2415 N. Orange Ave Suite 600 Orlando, FL
- Facilitates evaluations for potential VAD recipients by identifying candidates, reviewing medical records, and compiling tests.
- Documents comprehensive clinical assessments, including diagnostic testing and functional status.
- Participates in team meetings, patient review committees, interdisciplinary rounds, and discharge planning sessions.
- Monitors post-VAD and heart function according to established protocols.
- Provides clinical support to VAD patients, coordinating with hospital nursing staff, VAD RNs, and the perfusion team.

• Proficiency with MS Office Platform, particularly Outlook and Word [Required]
• Computer skills and ability to work effectively across multiple EMRs [Required]
• Ability to ensure security and confidentiality of patient health information (PHI) [Required]
• Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals, bylaws, regulations and instructions [Required]
• Organ transplantation or procurement knowledge [Required]
• Ability to make decisions ethically and to act as a patient advocate [Required]
• Bilingual (English required/Spanish preferred) [Preferred]
Education:
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Required]
• Master's of Nursing [Preferred]
Field of Study:
• N/A
Work Experience:
• 1+ of critical care or palliative care experience for patients with life-limiting or life-threatening illness [Preferred]
• 1+ of experience of advanced heart failure or post-operative cardiovascular experience [Required]
• 1+ of teaching/preceptor experience [Preferred]
• 1+ of ventricular assist device experience [Preferred]
• 2+ of experience in an acute care setting within the last three years [Required]
