Job Description:

  • Hours will vary 7:30am-5:00pm M-F   7:30am-12:00pm Saturdays  

  • Participates in performance improvement activities, resolves customer service issues, evaluates new equipment and procedures, and monitors staff performance.
  • Assists department leadership with staffing, interviewing, orientation, training, coaching, mentoring, and competency assessment.
  • Coordinates and facilitates the clinical experience of students in affiliated education programs.
  • Participates in various committees or teams and assists with special projects as assigned.
  • Ensures department workspaces are maintained in a neat, organized, and properly supplied manner, and oversees post-analytical activities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to ensure departmental compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements [Required]• Exhibits technical skills and aptitudes related to specific laboratory specimen collections as performed in department or work area assigned. [Required]• Displays the ability to comprehend, measure, reason, match, problem solve, and exercise judgment under minimal supervision. [Required]• Exhibits ability to make appropriate decisions in stressful situations and handle multiple priorities and projects. [Required]• Able to effectively communicate verbally and in written form in English with patients, staff, and customers of varied backgrounds in a respectful, effective, and professional manner. [Required]

Education:
• Associate [Preferred]• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:
• 1+ years of leadership/management experience
• 2+ years of related laboratory experience [Required]• 3+ years of technical experience

Additional Information:
• Driver's license required for AHL only.

Licenses and Certifications:
• Basic Life Support – CPR Cert (BLS) [Preferred]• Driver's License (DL) [Preferred]
