Job Description:
Schedule Information:
Monday through Friday 7am-330pm
Other duties as assigned. Supports key BAS system users for more technical service issues and mentors internal resources. Coordinates with various departments across acute and non-acute locations. Ensures quality levels for new construction projects. Modifies control programs to enhance patient and staff comfort levels while reducing energy consumption and increasing operational efficiency. Diagnoses problems and attempts repairs prior to opening a work order for further assistance. Replaces failed controllers and end devices as needed. Troubleshoots BAS failures and/or operational anomalies. Acts as the first line of response for BAS system failures. Coordinates with vendors for BACnet panel network addressing schema to mitigate/eliminate network conflicts. Oversees expansion and retrofits of all existing BAS systems. Liaises with BAS vendors, MEP design team, and mechanical contractors.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for building automation and related low voltage systems [Required]
- Strong knowledge of HVAC and related electrical systems – DX/refrigeration, Chilled Water, CEP, Boiler Plants, steam distribution, VAV, constant volume [Required]
- Strong working knowledge with Microsoft desktop and server operating systems [Required]
- Strong I.T. knowledge base – networking, switching, routing etc. [Required]
- Capable of programming major HVAC systems – PASCAL, Fortran, Basic, C+ training, graphical programming language [Required]
Education:
- Associate [Preferred]
- Bachelor's [Preferred]
Field of Study:
- in Computer Science or related field
- in Mechanical Engineering
Work Experience:
- 5+ experience in energy management, building automation controls, mechanical systems startup and commissioning, construction and /or maintenance, or closely related field [Required]
- Experience with a major manufacture building automation control system. [Required]
- SQL and MSDE Database experience [Preferred]
- Strong experience with more complex control strategies [Required]
- Web browser experience – Windows IIS, HTML, XML [Required]
Licenses and Certifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) [Preferred]
- Valid Driver's license
- CompTIA A+ Certification (COMPTIA-A+) [Preferred]
- CompTIA Network+ [Preferred]
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) [Preferred]
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) [Preferred]
