The role you'll contribute:

Responsible for serving as a shift lead in the Sterile Processing Department, ensuring the effective sterilization, decontamination, and disinfection of medical instruments. This position assists and monitors activities related to sterilization processes while promoting services and satisfaction through training, education, and resolution of instrument set concerns. This role runs shifts independently when supervisors are not present and oversees compliance with regulatory considerations. In addition, this position participates in the orientation of new hires, quality audits, and performance improvement activities. This role actively engages in outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships with staff and physicians.

Serves as shift charge person in the absence of department leadership, prioritizing work to ensure instrumentation and equipment availability.

Ensures safe work practices for all employees, monitors staff use of PPE in decontamination area, and takes appropriate action in emergency situations.

Participates in new employee orientation, on-the-job training, in-service education, and facility process improvement initiatives.

Oversees and monitors supply and equipment inventory required for the department.

Rotates assignments among various areas within the department, including decontamination, surgical tray assembly, sterilization processes, and equipment management.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

High School diploma or GED

Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) Required

Certified Board of Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) Required

Central Supply Tech (IAHCSMM) Required

1 Work Experience Preferred
