About the Area
Midway between Tampa and Orlando, Lake Wales is a small community big on family fun. Voted the “friendliest small town in Florida,” the community is rich with arts and cultural events throughout the year, such as the annual Lake Wales Arts Show, Pioneer Days, the Orange Blossom BBQ and an annual Mardi Gras parade and party. Historic Bok Tower Gardens hosts the International Carillon Festival each year, as well as the Sunset & Symphony holiday concert.
Since Lake Wales sits atop Florida’s topographical ridge, it’s home to many plants found nowhere else on Earth.
