About the Area
Bolingbrook’s earliest settlers, many from Vermont, began arriving in the area in 1832 and focused on farming. In 1960, a builder developed the area’s first subdivision and named it Bolingbrook. The Village of Bolingbrook was incorporated in 1965. With a population of more than 73,000 residents today, Bolingbrook is just 30 miles southwest of Chicago. Bolingbrook offers abundant options for family and leisure activities, including weekly summer concerts, an annual air show, a performing arts center, an indoor/outdoor aquatic park, golf courses, shopping and dining at Promenade Bolingbrook, and hiking at the nearby Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve and Waterfall Glen.
