Build the Skills for Safe, Confident Practice in the Operating Room

The Surgical Technologist Training Program is a 22-week, full-time experience designed to prepare learners for a meaningful career as a Certified Surgical Technologist (TS-C).

The curriculum blends foundational knowledge with hands-on skill development through a mix of online learning modules, live virtual classroom instruction, lab-based training, and campus-based operating room experience. Participants learn alongside experienced preceptors who provide guidance, feedback, and support throughout the program.

By the end of the program, participants have built the technical skills, clinical judgment, and professional confidence needed to demonstrate safe, competent practice in the operating room. Graduates complete the program having earned the NCCT Tech in Surgery–Certified (TS-C) credential, ready to step into practice with confidence and purpose.

Eligibility Requirements

The Surgical Technologist Training Program is open to current AdventHealth team members who are interested in growing into a Certified Surgical Technologist role.

No prior surgical technology training or certification is required. Participants should be prepared to commit to a full-time training schedule and actively engage in both classroom instruction and hands-on operating room experience throughout the program.

As part of the application process, applicants must provide their direct supervisor’s contact information so a Direct Supervisor Evaluation Form can be completed in support of their participation.

Tuition

There is no tuition cost to participate in the Surgical Technologist Training Program. Team members continue as paid AdventHealth employees throughout the program, receiving their regular pay and benefits. This program reflects AdventHealth’s commitment to investing in its people and supporting meaningful career growth while caring for the whole person — body, mind, and spirit.

Application Process

Applications for the Surgical Technologist Training Program are submitted through the online application on this page. The application window is open from March 9 through March 18, 2026.

As part of the application, applicants will be asked to provide contact information for their direct supervisor. A Supervisor Evaluation Form will be sent to the supervisor to support the eligibility review process.

After the initial review, selected applicants will be invited to complete a recorded video interview. Finalists will then be selected for in-person interviews.

All applicants will be notified of their status by March 29, 2026. The training program begins April 27, 2026.

This program reflects our commitment to walking alongside our team members as they develop professionally, while strengthening the care we provide to the communities we serve.
