AdventHealth Tampa, a faith-based not-for-profit 626-bed tertiary-level acute care hospital located in the uptown district of Tampa, Florida, specializes in advanced cardiovascular medicine, neuroscience and neurology, digestive health, orthopedics, womens services, pediatrics, oncology, endocrinology, bariatrics, wound healing, sleep medicine and general surgery including minimally invasive and robot-assisted procedures. GME programs on the hospital campus currently include general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine and transitional year.

The role you'll contribute:

The Physical Therapy Assistant implements patient care for assigned patients under the direction of a Physical Therapist in accordance with the Florida Physical Therapy Association standards and pursuant to Florida Department of Professional Regulation, Chapter 486.021 (b): Physical Therapy Assistant means a person who is licensed in accordance with the provisions of this chapter to perform patient related activities, including the use of physical agents, whose license is in good standing and whose activities are performed under the direction of a Physical Therapist as set forth in rules adapted pursuant to this chapter.

  • Assessment: Collection of comprehensive data pertinent to the patients health or situation. Accurately assesses and records patient progress towards attainment of expected outcomes.

  • Diagnosis: Assists the Physical Therapist in the review of assessment data to identify diagnoses or issues.

  • Outcomes Identification: Assists the Physical Therapist in planning interventions and goals with the patient/family based on the identified problems and desired outcomes.

  • Planning: The patients Plan of Care is recorded and followed.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

  • Graduate of an accredited School for Physical Therapy Assistant.

  • Current Florida Physical Therapy Assistant License

  • Current BLS from American Heart Association
